Clearswift introduces SpamLogic

Self-training, anti-spam solution blocks spam at the e-mail gateway with more than 99% accuracy.

SpamLogic screens all e-mail based on source, content and destination, as well as all e-mail attachments and executables. The integrated defenses include Bayesian Analysis, which is tuned for probability profiles that best reflect what is and what is not spam, and textual analysis, which helps SpamLogic understand the terms and tricks spammers use to bypass traditional anti-spam solutions.

Organizations can use Clearswift's Web-based management interface to manage their spam and quarantine lists. Additional defenses that strengthen SpamLogic's accuracy and coverage include:

-- Auto-whitelisting -- SpamLogic monitors e-mail traffic to determine who are the spammers and legitimate e-mailers;

-- Real-time Blacklisting -- High-volume inbound traffic and new senders are weighted as more suspicious, which increases the heuristic accuracy;

-- Sender Policy Framework and Sender ID -- Two industry initiatives, which put the burden of authenticity on the sender; and

-- "Tar-pitting" -- When SpamLogic detects too many messages from the same host to non-existent addresses, it assumes a directory harvest attack is in progress and slows down all mail from the host's addresses.

While SpamLogic forms a major part of the defenses of the new MIMEsweeper Appliance, existing MIMEsweeper for SMTP customers using versions 4.3, 5.0 and 5.1 will also benefit, with the new SpamLogic technology to be provided as a free update to supported customers.
