CyberDefender announces Phishing Alert

March 17, 2006

The CyberDefender Phishing Alert is a phishing attack report highlighting recent phishing scams that are plaguing Internet users and exposing them to identity theft.

Currently the Internet's top risks include two active PayPal phishing scams and an active eBay scam, followed by a number of financial institutions and the IRS.

CyberDefender Threat Central analyzes threats and determines whether the phished site is an active scam or an inactive scam. Many phishing sites cycle between active and inactive – sometimes daily, in an effort to avoid detection by Internet Service Providers. Because of this, the CyberDefender Threat Central phishing threats are dynamic, adjusting in real-time as each threat evolves.

CyberDefender has identified the following active phishing attacks for March 16, 2006.
